Buffalo Chicken Wings Recipe
Ingredients:
- 2 lbs (900g) chicken wings
- 1/2 cup (120ml) hot sauce (like Frank’s RedHot)
- 1/4 cup (60g) unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tbsp white vinegar
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional for extra heat)
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- Oil for frying (or bake if preferred)
- Celery sticks and blue cheese dressing for serving
Instructions:
- Prep the wings: If the wings are whole, cut them into drumettes and flats. Pat them dry with a paper towel.
- Fry the wings: Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 375°F (190°C). Fry the wings in batches for 10-12 minutes until golden brown and crispy. Alternatively, you can bake them at 425°F (220°C) for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through for even crispiness.
- Make the Buffalo sauce: While the wings are cooking, mix the melted butter, hot sauce, vinegar, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper in a bowl.
- Coat the wings: Once the wings are done, drain them on paper towels to remove excess oil. Toss them in the Buffalo sauce until fully coated.
- Serve: Serve the wings hot with celery sticks and a side of blue cheese or ranch dressing for dipping.
Tips:
- For extra crispiness: If baking, you can toss the wings in a little baking powder before putting them in the oven.
- Heat level: Adjust the amount of cayenne pepper or hot sauce based on your spice preference.
